Existence of God

Posted by Michael Paul on June 17, 2012 at 11:15 PM

Existence of God

I Pet. 3:15 Heb. 11:6

1. Does God actually exist?

1. God… is there someone called God? Heb. 11:6

2. Does He really exist? Ps. 14:1; 53:1. Or…is man the one and only Supreme

Being?

3. The answer of a religious person is “YES”.

4. The answer of an Atheist is “NO”.

5. The answer of an agnostic is “I DON'T KNOW”.

2. Man’s Belief

1. All Atheists and Agnostics are NOT anti-religious.

2. Some Atheists don't mind if religious people pray.

3. If the religious people believe that prayer can make them better and if it does,

then these Atheists do not object to it.

4. Not all atheists are hostile to those who believe in God.

5. There are some Atheists who donate money or extend any help they can

possibly do for faith-based charities.

6. Because they like the good things that such charities do, though they don't

believe in the God the charities believe in.

7. Yet, neither their donation nor their harmlessness and their help towards the

religious people will make them godly.

8. Only when they believe that there is God, that is only when they put their trust

in God, they become God’s children.

3. Is God our imagination?

1. But if there is God, we need to have evidences for the existence of God, isn't

it?

2. It is stated by some learned persons that Science has disproved God. Is it

true?

3. Does God actually exist, or is He the product of our thinking, made as perfect

as we can make Him?

4. Is He perhaps only the total of all our experiences of those things we call

good, which we group together, idealize, and then give the name "God"?

5. Are we deceiving ourselves by saying so?

4. Those who disprove

1. Umpteen attempts are being taken by a large number of people to disprove

the existence of God.

2. If God does not exist, then there is no need to take such gigantic efforts to

disprove His existence, isn’t it!

3. Because, normally we speak about either an existing thing or a person

saying, “See, here it is!” or “See, there he is!”

4. But we do not talk about something that which is not there. If Television is not

in a room, then we don’t go on saying, “See, Television is not here!” Because,

everyone very well knows the fact that Television is not there.

5. So, the very attempts to disprove His existence are solid proof for His

existence.

5. Creation - Creator

1. Cloth will not become a dress. A tailor is needed.

2. Wood will not become furniture. It needs a carpenter.

3. Stones, cement, wood, metal etc., do not become a building. An engineer is

needed to construct a building.

4. Paint will not become an art. An artist is needed.

5. Words will not become a poem or song. A poet is needed.

6. So, we know that something doesn't come from nothing.

7. We also know that living things don't pop out of dead matter.

8. So, in building the gigantic universe, Man, Animals, Trees etc., there must

have been an Engineer - Maker – Designer. He is God!

6. Planned Creation

1. We see a plan in the Universe - Night, Day, 24 Hours, the path of planets etc.,

2. If there is a plan, then there must be the one, who planned it.

3. If there is a function, then there must be the one, who planned and

coordinated the same.

4. If there is a design, then there has to be a designer.

5. Now a days computer designs are being used in dresses, buildings etc.,

6. But, Computer can never prepare a design all by itself. A computer operator

is needed.

7. Similarly, there has to be someone who planned the plan of the Universe.

7. Man accountable to whom?

1. Some people find God's existence unbearable and unacceptable.

2. As they are not able to bear it, they are unable or not willing to believe.

3. In today's world there is a popular and widespread idea that there is no God.

4. This statement implies that men are not responsible or accountable to

anyone. Many people think that man is a ‘Free Bird’! Jud. 21:25.

5. Many think : What is wrong for me ONLY is wrong at all.

6. This thought concept is basically responsible for the enormous incidences of

crime, robbery, rape, murder and every conceivable evil that we face in our

society today.

7. It is surprising that many learned, knowledgeable persons go on discussing

umpteen remedies for this situation. How blind they are!

8. None of them have realized that it is the cause of the denial of the existence

of God, which has caused men to become animalistic.

8. Materialism

1. Now a days there are people who believe in materialism.

2. Materialism's view of the universe is that there exists nothing but MATTER -

no soul, no spirit and no God.

3. This group of people believe only in MATTER. According to them, the only

thing that matters in life is the physical - something you can see, touch, use

and / or own.

4. Do such people have a god? Yes, they do. Money is their god.

5. They think that money is under their control. But actually they are under the

control of money.

6. They don't know the fact that if money is their god they can’t keep it under

their control.

7. They are also unaware of the fact that money is not their god. How sad!

9. Fun

1. Another group of people believe in fun.

2. This is the 'eat - drink - and be merry' set.

3. Their goal is happiness, which they never attain.

4. To achieve their goal, they do whatever they want with little regard for others.

5. In their attempt to find happiness, there are several things which bring loss

either to others or even to them that they seem to overlook.

6. Some are pushed by others/circumstances etc., into this life of illusion.

7. Is it true that to enjoy life one must disregard God and God's will for us? Of

course, no!

10. Inner Urge

1. People yearn for a guardian to protect them from dangers and to direct their

urges in proper channels.

2. There is such an urge in every culture, in any country to believe in someone

higher than ourselves! Strange, isn't it!

3. Almost all normal babies are born with a sucking instinct and a longing for

mother’s care and embrace.

4. They have this without doing any reasoning about the existence of mothers.

5. Would anyone claim mothers are not real though babies have this inner urge?

Of course not!

6. The sucking instinct is a sign that babies come from mothers and are

designed to thrive on mother's milk.

7. Similarly, people have an inner urge to believe that there is a God.

8. This isn't based on logic but on a deep, basic longing.

9. This longing is a sign that human beings come from God and are designed to

thrive on fellowship with God.

10. So, if anyone claims that God isn't real though man has this inner urge to

believe that there is a God, will that statement be true? No, never!

11. Actually Atheists and Agnostics suppress this urge within themselves. Only by

overcoming this urge, they declare that there is no God.

12. Man has been made to have fellowship with God and for this purpose this

urge has been given to him by God.

13. The heart of every man / woman will be restless until he / she finds God.

11. Might Have Seen Or Not

1. A person might not have seen the ocean. Yet it certainly still exists and that

person's life is affected by the ocean being there.

2. Since he is not aware of its existence, it cannot be said that there is no sea,

isn’t it! So also God! He does exist!

3. The evidence of God's power and wisdom is so abundant in created things

that the Bible doesn't bother to prove that God exists. Rom. 1 : 20.

12. Incidents and the Creator

1. According to the thinkers, there is nothing that happens of which you can say,

"God did that."

2. So, recent thinkers raise these questions: How does one know that God is

doing anything? How does one know that He answers prayers, that His

Spirit is active, that He saves men from their sin and for His Kingdom?

3. To answer such thinkers with the old answers of "the Bible says so" or "Jesus

says so" do not satisfy them.

4. Bible does have spiritual depth and long life.

5. Yet, "Prove it by some other means!" they say.

6. We cannot prove the existence of God either with test tubes or lab scales or

by sheer logic.

7. Words have the meaning, which we give to them. Think about that.

8. So, when thinkers say 'GOD', they mean as though He is a person and hence

they would like to see Him doing things.

9. Since God cannot be seen, we can't see Him doing things.

13. Is God dead?

1. At the close of World War II, Jean Paul Sartre, a Philosopher, announced to a

group of newsmen: "Gentlemen, God is dead."

2. Indeed many people died in the war. May be this is the reason as to why he

said so.

3. Many people still believe this statement. How sad!

4. How much courage is required to say seriously, "God is dead"?

5. Today, some people live, as though God were dead.

6. Even after thinking so, they don't have the real life within themselves.

7. The fact is that they are dead within themselves.

8. A person can have life only when he believes that God is alive.

9. Those who say "God is dead", cannot prove the death of God.

10. They have not attended that funeral service.

11. They cannot provide a death certificate.

12. Yet, many such people still think and talk that God is dead.

13. If one says NOW that God is dead, then he admits that God existed IN THE

PAST.

14. If so, then we have to think whether such a person like God, can ever be

overtaken by death! Who is bigger – God or Death?

15. If God has power to create this gigantic universe, then how can death

overtake Him?

16. A group of people say that God doesn't exist and He never did.

17. But they don't prove it. God does exist. Hence, it is not possible to prove His

non-existence.

14. When man dies….

1. If a man dies, shall he live again?

2. Who can tell? Which scientist has the answer?

3. Who has died and come back to earth to say there is life beyond the grave?

4. Even if some one says that he has come back from death, what is the

evidence and how to trust his words?

5. Since no man living on earth now has had this experience, how can man

deny the life after death!

6. If a person is seriously ill, in his deathbed he thinks of turning to God for help.

7. Even Atheists think of turning to God for help, at such situations.

8. Some people may not be in death bed. But while facing problems, they turn to

God for help.

9. Such incidents are evidences for the existence of God, isn’t it!

15. Man-made Gods

1. People are afraid of the wild world around them and the wild urges within

them.

2. People create their own gods. Why? Man cannot live all by himself. He has

not been created to live all alone.

3. So, he will create or esteem or regard something as god or his focus. He

either worships or respects or loves the same.

16. Controlling the Universe

1. A group of people admit that God does exist. But they say that He doesn't

care about the universe anymore.

2. Some people, who believe in God, believe that He created the universe, but

does not believe that it is under His control now.

3. If it is not under His control, then under whose control is it?

4. They think that after providing laws to keep it going, He left the universe to its

own future.

5. To a certain extent, it is true. Because, since the planets do not have their

own will, they have to abide by the laws set by God.

6. But, their opinion is that He doesn’t need to interfere in this affair. Moreover

their desire is that He should not interfere in this matter.

7. They fail to think (they can't think in this manner) that the one who created

this gigantic universe will also have the power to interfere in it.

8. After providing laws to keep the universe going, for the sake of His children,

God parts the red sea; causes it to rain a very grievous hail upon the

enemies; thunders with a great thunder and frighten the enemies; causes the

land to be in darkness; stops the Sun and the Moon; God does interfere in the

universe. He is the one, who is ruling the universe.

17. Universe

1. When we inquire whether creation really happened, we're limited by the fact

that none of us was present when the universe began.

2. Is this world a random accident or the product of man’s intelligent design?

3. Do all the parts of an aero plane join together and thus make the aircraft

ready for a take off?

4. Do all the parts of a wrist watch join together and thus become a wrist watch?

5. So, how can the sky, the earth, the sea, all that are therein, the planets etc.,

be created all by themselves?

18. Scientific Knowledge

1. We are living in an age of scientific progress.

2. In our generation we have seen man achieve some things that our forefathers

considered impossible.

3. The pace at which science is progressing is perpetually accelerating.

4. It has been estimated that the entire scientific knowledge that man had

acquired from the time of his creation to 1750 A.D. has doubled all of a

sudden within a period of 150 years by 1900 A.D.

5. The knowledge that was man's by 1900 A.D. doubled again and this time in

just 50 years by 1950 A.D.

6. This knowledge doubled again in just 10 years - by 1960 A.D.

7. It has been estimated that man's scientific knowledge has been doubling

thereafter every 2 ½ years.

8. Now, every year!

9. Very soon, every month!! Dan. 12 : 4.

10. But the Knowledge of the Creator is a real challenge to the Scientific

Knowledge.

19. Traveling Speed

1. Take for instance the speed of travel, as one indication of scientific advance.

2. 200 years ago man traveled on horseback just like his primitive ancestors did

thousands of years earlier.

3. But by 1900, man could travel by advanced means of locomotion at about 50

mph and in those days this was considered as a very fast speed.

4. By 1945, jet planes had come into the air and man was traveling at 600 mph.

5. Today, man travels in space over 24,000 mph.

6. But, however faster man is capable of traveling, still he has not yet traveled

throughout the earth or all over the sky or in every part of the sea. Is it wise to

state that this gigantic creation came all by itself?

20. Space

1. We say that space has been conquered because man has reached the moon.

2. But we must not forget that the moon is just on the fringe of space.

3. Space itself is so vast that it staggers our imagination.

4. The approximate distance of the moon from the earth is about 239,000 miles.

5. This is very small compared with the distance from the earth to the sun, which

is 93 million miles.

6. The distance of the sun looks quite considerable, but it is actually quite

negligible when compared with the distance of the nearest star.

7. This huge Space must have been created by someone bigger. Yes, God, who

created the Space, is far bigger than the Space. Ps. 48 : 1.

21. Light Year

1. When calculating distances to the stars, ordinary units of measurement will

not do, for they lead us into fantastically large figures.

2. Scientists and astronomers therefore use the "light year" as the unit of

measurement.

3. The distance that light travels in one year is one light year.

4. Light travels 186,000 miles in one second.

5. This is equivalent to traveling 7 times around the earth in one second.

6. The distance that light travels in one year comes to nearly 5,886 billion miles!

7. Another unit used by astronomers is the parsec.

8. A parsec is about 200,000 times the distance from the earth to the sun, or

about 3 ½ light years.

9. As man’s calculators fail to find the distances to the stars, he is forced to

come up with new units of measurement. It is not at all possible for these

stars to have come up all by themselves at such staggering distances! Yes,

this distance challenges man to think of the creator.

22. Distance Of Stars

1. The nearest star visible to the naked eye, is a star called "Alpha Centauri".

2. This is 4 ½ light years away - that is, about 250,000 times the distance to the

sun.

3. This means that if you travel at the speed of light, which is 186,000 miles per

second, even though you would reach the moon in 1 ½ seconds and the sun

in 8 ½ minutes you would have to travel for 4 ½ years at that speed to reach

"Alpha Centauri".

4. To get a better idea of what this means, consider a scale model of the

universe where the earth is represented by a grain of sand and the sun by a

marble, three feet away from the earth. All the planets of our solar system

would then come within a radius of 100 feet from the sun. But the nearest star

would be 150 miles away from the earth on that scale model of the universe.

5. The farthest star visible to the naked eye is in the Andromeda Galaxy.

6. This is 1.5 million light years away.

7. Even with the help of the advanced telescopes, we cannot see the stars

which are far off. But we can see some of the Galaxies in which these stars

are located.

8. These distant galaxies that are visible through telescopes are 6,500 million

light years away. So much for distances!

9. How could such a gigantic space have come all by itself? It certainly needs a

creator. Think of its creator. He must be quite big enough to have created this

giant space. Indeed, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain

God.1 Kings 8 : 27.

23. Size Of Stars

1. Now look at the sizes of some of the stars. They look so small that little

children say, "Twinkle, Twinkle little star."

2. The earth looks pretty large!

3. It takes us many hours to get from one place to another on this earth.

4. But the sun is so large that 1 million spheres the size of the earth could fit into

it, if it were hollow.

5. How can anyone say such gigantic Sun, Moon, Stars, Earth etc., have all

come by themselves.

24. Number Of Stars

1. Our solar system is part of a galaxy called the "Milky Way".

2. Astronomers have estimated that there are at least 100,000 million stars in

this galaxy.

3. The sun is just one such star.

4. And the Milky Way is just one galaxy among many.

5. Astronomers tell us that there are at least 100 million galaxies in the part of

space that telescopes can see.

6. There are many more beyond. Jer. 33:22; Ps. 147 : 4.

7. Consider too the perfect precision with which these heavenly bodies move in

their orbits. The best man-made watch is not more precise than the stars in

the Heaven.

8. Surely there must be a Supreme Intelligence behind this universe that created

and planned each star and planet. Rom. 11 : 33.

25. Rotation Of The Earth

1. The earth spins once every 24 hours.

2. Some planets take more hours.

3. If the earth does so, say 1000 or 2000 or 3000 or even more hours for each

rotation, then no living thing could survive on the face of the earth.

4. The days will be so long and hot that all moisture in the planet earth would

boil away.

5. Nights would be so cold that if anything survived the day, it would freeze to

death during the night.

6. So, the earth's right kind of rotation, is that an accident?

26. Size And Distance Of The Earth

1. Consider the mass and size of this planet upon which we have been placed. If

the earth were either 10 percent larger or 10 percent smaller than it is, its

speed of rotation will change.

2. Then, as we have seen earlier, either the days will be long and hot or nights

would be long and so cold.

3. Hence, Scientists say that life would not be possible upon this planet.

4. Furthermore, it is just at the right distance from the sun, and thus we receive

the right amount of heat and light.

5. If it were farther away, we would not receive enough heat and thus we would

freeze.

6. If it were closer (such as the distance of mercury or venus) we would receive

enormous heat and thus we will not be able to survive.

27. Man – so little

1. How vast is space! How small is man! Ps. 8 : 3, 4.

2. Yet, God the creator of this universe cares for each of us. This is the

marvelous truth we learn in the Bible.

3. The value of any article is not determined by its size.

4. A millionaire may own acres of land. But his little child is more precious to him

than all those large tracts of land.

5. So with God. He owns man.

6. Space may be vast. The stars may be huge in their size. But God loves and

cherishes man more than all of His vast creation.

7. Man was created to be a son of God and to have fellowship with God.

8. It is such a fellowship with God alone that can give meaning and purpose to

man's existence.

9. We can see the greatness of God in creation. But the Bible reveals that this

God is also the One who loves us and cares for us.

28. Science

1. Some of those who were raising oppositions have realized that science and

Christianity are not contradictory, but complementary.

2. Science seeks to answer the when and how questions about the universe;

3. Christianity addresses the who and why questions.

29. Branches Of Science

1. Have scientists disproved God? No, God’s existence cannot be disproved.

2. There are several branches of science which deal with trees, animals,

chemicals etc., etc.,

3. But the science of astronomy deals with the planets, stars etc.,

4. So, it looks at a larger portion of God's handiwork than all other branches of

science. Ps.19:1.

5. Those who have most thoroughly examined this handiwork will eventually

face the question, “Who has made this universe?”

6. Those who have looked most intently and to the farthest extent that man has

been able to see in the universe have to conclude saying that the hand that

made it, is indeed "Divine".

30. Findings of the Scientists

1. Science is preparing a surprise for mankind!

2. It may even shock some scientists, who may be startled to find that newly

uncovered fact, or accepted theory.

3. Such theories provide still another link in the chain of evidences that is

showing that the fact of the universe supports the Bible's statements -

including creation.

4. The facts of the universe are being supported increasingly by the findings of

science.

5. Hence, the additional research efforts provide new findings, and they are not

disproving the Bible rather furnish evidences to support the statements in the

Bible. But, Scientists are still unwilling to accept this fact.

6. The consequences of this are incalculable. These will surely revolutionize

many people.

31. Who, Why

1. As science seemingly explains the origin and purpose of the universe, the

questions 'Who is GOD?' ‘ Who created all these things?’ are pressed upon

us.

2. As all the benefits of modern living are made available to us, many men ask

themselves 'Why do I need God?'.

3. Even after seeing the creation, man fails to think of the creator.

32. Law of cause and effect

1. Scientists accept that everything that is happening in this world are happening

based on the Law of cause and effect.

2. The law is this: For every effect there is a cause.

3. If a glass vessel is lying down broken, immediately the question “Who broke

this?” pops up within us spontaneously.

4. In ancient times Sundial was the clock which was used.

5. Later on clocks were invented using sand, water, springs etc.,

6. Now a days we have electronic, quartz and digital clocks.

7. These were invented by men.

8. No clock was created all by itself.

9. But scientists depend only upon the astrological clock.

10. This clock functions according to the revolution of the earth.

11. One day is defined as the time taken by the earth to make one round.

12. All the clocks in the world have to be adjusted according to the speed of the

earth.

13. If the clocks of the world were not created by themselves and were created by

men, then the clock called the earth, which controls all the clocks in this

world, also must have been created by a greater force. Acts. 7:48, 49. Eph.

3:17.

14. According to the cause and effect theory, as the earth is an effect, then there

should have been a cause that made it.

15. So also, with stars, sun, moon, hills, valleys, rivers, seas, trees, animals,

birds, man etc., These are all effects. So there has to be a cause.

33. Information in human cells

1. It has been estimated that each human cell has enough DNA information to

fill at least 1,000 books of 500 pages each.

2. Could such information be encoded and transmitted by an accidental

process?

3. If you found a Library containing 100s of books having 100s of pages filled

with detailed information, would you assume it was all written by accident

without any intelligent author?

4. Since the Books are effect, there should be a cause which brought them forth.

5. Since the information in human cells is effect, there should be a cause which

encoded them.

34. Cause is Greater

1. The Law of cause and effect accepts that effect cannot be greater than the

cause.

2. The destruction by a bomb or fire may be bigger. But still the man who is the

cause for it is a greater force.

3. This means that the created one cannot be bigger than the power which

created it.

4. Today man has invented computers, rockets etc.,

5. But he has not invented anything which can be called as something above

him in all aspects.

6. He has not invented anything which (1) can think like him, (2) make decisions

like he does according to the situations, (3) laugh or cry like him when moved

by emotions, (4) have relationship with its own kind as he has with other

human beings.

7. Hence, Computer is not the suitable partner for man. Gen. 2 : 18.

8. So, the power which had created man must be greater than man.

9. Since man has life, feelings etc, the power which had created man must have

life, feelings in a higher level.

10. The power, which had created man, cannot be a lifeless, senseless one - like

electricity or atomic energy.

11. We know that rational intelligence and moral conscience don't come from

chemical reactions.

12. The facts tell us that we, human beings, are not an accident but the

handiwork of some Super Power.

13. That super power is GOD!

35. Why Sufferings?

1. Those who do not believe in God’s existence ask us, “If there is God, how can

there be pain and suffering?” This is one of the most difficult questions for

Christians to answer.

2. The problem of pain is atheism's most potent weapon against the Christian

faith.

3. All true science and history, if rightly understood, support the fact of God.

4. Rightly the Bible says: "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God"

(Psalm 14:1).

5. Most atheists, therefore, without any objective evidence on which to base

their faith in "no God", must resort finally to philosophical objections. And this

problem of suffering is the greatest of these.

6. That is, they say, how can a God of love permit such things as war, sickness,

pain, and death in the world, which is His creation, especially when their

effects often are felt most keenly by those who are apparently innocent?

7. So, they conclude that either He is not a God of love and is indifferent to

human suffering, or else He is not a God of power and is therefore helpless to

do anything about it.

36. Sufferings are good – for those who go astray!

1. Many people go away from God.

2. God wants to turn them towards Him.

3. So, He allows sufferings in their lives.

37. Sufferings are good – for His Children!

1. The sufferings of Believers in Christ should always be the means of

developing a stronger dependence on God and a more Christ-like character,

if they are properly "exercised thereby" (Hebrews 12:11).

2. Thus, God is loving and merciful even when, "for the present," He allows trials

and sufferings to come in our lives.

38. Sufferings are the result of lack of faith!

1. People suffer due to lack of faith.

2. Many people do not have the knowledge that faith can help them to overcome

sufferings.

3. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6).

4. But…“…we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,

to them who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

39. Sufferings – fight between Evil and Good !

1. There are many other forms of Sufferings.

2. Evil seems to have the upper hand.

3. The wicked succeed, while the righteous people suffer.

4. But, those who believe in God have hope for the future.

5. In spite of the situations like the Lion’s Den and the Fiery Furnace, they are

able to believe that truth will someday win out.

6. The righteous will surely be justified.

7. The good will definitely be vindicated.

8. Love will certainly conquer hatred.

9. Faith will change trials into triumphs and thus the question “If there is God,

why suffering?” will be answered in action.

40. But…If there is no God…?

1. If there is no God, man can do as he pleases.

2. What is right depends upon what he thinks is right. This will lead him to

commit sins.

3. If there is no God, who can forgive the sins of man?

4. Can a man forgive his own sins?

5. Can a man give peace and true happiness to others or at least to himself?

6. Though man has invented a lot of things, learnt about earth, mountains,

valleys, sea, and the sky, controls even wild animals, yet man could not

create PEACE, neither among nations, nor among fellowmen not even to his

own self. There are enough and more evidences in News Media. Col. 1 : 20.

7. Men try to redeem themselves in a number of ways.

8. One of such methods is by developing a strong character. Ecc. 3 : 17.

9. 'Honest, upright people will make for a good world', they think.

10. Another way is the way of knowledge.

11. Man thinks that he can educate people to live in peace and harmony with

themselves and with one another.

12. And of course, with no God, these questions arise: “Why Harmony?”

"Salvation for what?"

13. There are flaws in the schemes we device for saving ourselves.

14. Take God out of life, and all of life goes to pieces.

15. Under that condition, there will be nothing but confusion.

16. Until a person knows God, he will have no reason for living in this world.

17. When a person knows God, life on planet earth will have meaning.

41. To prove or to believe

1. Some people say, "There is no God".

2. Some others say, "We do not know whether or not God exists".

3. Another group says, "Any language or statement about God is not provable

and therefore only nonsense".

4. We cannot show pain, but can still feel it. Though it is not provable, it is real.

5. We cannot see the wind, but can feel its gentle breeze.

6. We cannot witness the storm, but can see the tree that it throws away.

7. The efforts taken to prove God, the evidences provided may not be

acceptable to those who do not believe God’s existence. So, they may say

that we cannot prove God.

8. Well, but, by accepting God, His love can be experienced without any shadow

of doubt.

9. They can taste Him and see that He is good. Ps. 34 : 8.

10. They can experience His power in their lives.

11. Either man can believe Him or may not be willing to believe Him.

12. Either man can accept Him or may not be willing to accept Him.

42. To Find God

1. How do we know that God lives and cares for us?

2. God cannot be found at the end of a rational argument.

3. But, God can be found by a commitment.

4. In many ways this is like a leap in the dark, but it is based on faith.

43. Faith

1. Everyone operates on the principle of faith in certain basic areas of life.

2. So also to find God, one needs faith.

3. We cannot prove God in the way man expects. No faith would be required if

there were absolute proof according to the expectation of man.

4. Although God is not to be found at the end of logical argument, there are

logical reasons for believing in Him.

5. There is no absolute proof for God according to the expectation of man, but

there are convincing evidences to put our trust in Him.

6. Belief in God is not, as many people wrongly assume, an act of blind trust

with no rational basis.

7. On the other hand, belief in God does call for faith based on the facts

presented.

8. So, believing that God exists is not a matter of ignoring your brain but of

facing facts.

9. The Bible says: "Seek and you will find" (Matt. 7:7).

44. Can We Prove God?

1. The evidences that we have discussed so far support a reasonable probability

for God.

2. But they do not provide absolute proof such as the results we get by using

test tubes or scales or calculators or computers.

3. Because you cannot prove God in test tubes or scales or with calculators or

computers.

45. Does God prove Himself?

1. Though God can prove Himself, He does not always prove His existence to

those who do not believe in His existence.

2. God at times according to His own will and pleasure proves Himself to some

persons. This He does according to His will and in His time.

3. God is expecting those persons to come to Him with childlike faith.

4. Faith is essential in order to know God.

46. The one who believes

1. The best advice to an open-minded person, therefore, is this : “Exercise

whatever faith you have - however small it may be.”

2. God hears and answers prayers offered even with such tiny little faith.

3. Those who demand, 'Prove it to me' are cowards.

4. This kind of mind, sits at home to receive all kinds of arguments about God.

5. But, since God can neither be proved nor be disproved according to man’s

expectation, these minds have not reached any conclusion and they can

never reach any conclusion.

6. This kind of a mind can never reach anything, because it does not move.

7. Moving is taking a step of faith in the direction of God.

8. When a person takes his first step in this journey of faith, then he finds God;

he experiences God.

9. He recognizes that God is holy and that man is a sinner.

10. He confesses that he is a sinner.

11. He acknowledges the truth that God revealed Himself in Jesus Christ.

12. He believes that Jesus Christ died for him; became a ransom on behalf of

him; rose again and is alive today.

13. He accepts Jesus Christ and receives God's forgiveness.

14. He is blessed with God's salvation, which is so great; he receives joy and

peace.

15. Now he is a believer.

47. Story Of Christ

1. If the story of Christ is a myth, how such a myth could have lived this long!

2. How it is still accomplishing so many wonderful things!

48. Believing

1. One may say, "I believe in God." Okay, however, belief in Him is not enough,

for even the devils believe in God and tremble. Jam. 2:19.

2. It is necessary not only that a person believes He exists, but also believes He

became incarnate in JESUS CHRIST and that He died for that person’s sins.

3. It is necessary that a person believes and repents of his sins and cast himself

at His feet and places his trust in Him, in His atoning death for his salvation

and accepts Him as his Saviour.

4. Giving alms and doing good deeds is not Salvation.

5. Living a moral life is also not Salvation.

6. A person might have been born in a Christian family, and may be attending

Church regularly. But still this person should have the experience of

Salvation.

7. If not, the unsaved will face Him as an angry Judge on that great day of

Judgment, which is going to come soon.

8. So, it is inevitable that we believe in Him, and have the experience of

Salvation.

9. We must also know what we believe and should know why we believe what

we believe.

10. The Bible says: Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh

you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" (I Pt. 3:15).

This is not an advice, but this is God's command.

11. God does exist and He is really great. The surprising fact is that He wants to

make us great!

49. Nature reveals the Creator

1. Take time to study about nature!

2. God’s power is displayed in the creation. Rom. 1: 20.

3. Man is given the option either to believe or decide not to believe God.

4. So, man can either accept Him or reject Him.
